Thread Vein, Skin Tag & Milia Removal

If those little red veins are making you feel less than fresh faced, then Be Beautiful has a simple solution.

Thread veins, (also known as spider veins or broken capillaries) can appear on the face, chest and legs for many different reasons, including; environmental, age & genetics, which can often make people feel very embarrassed & self conscious, but here at Be Beautiful thread veins can be successfully removed using short wave diathermy (also known as thermo-coagulation) & is an extremely effective way of reducing or even completely eradicating the appearance of thread veins. This method can sometimes be completed within just one treatment, or may require more, depending on the individual clients needs. The end result following thread vein treatment should be a clearer, fresher complexion & a more even skin tone. The short wave diathermy is also fantastic to remove a range of other skin anomalies including skin tags, blood spots, milia, seborrhoic keratosis & common, plane or plantar warts.

  • What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only scientifically proven method of permanent hair removal. It is effective for all skin colours, skin types, hair colours, hair types & can be used to treat any area of the face or body.  A Professional electrologist inserts a very fine needle (usually as thin or slightly thinner than the hair being treated) into the natural opening of the follicle alongside the shaft of hair. A tiny amount  of electrical current is then passed through the needle to destroy the germinative cells & eliminate hair growth.

  • The Science Behind Electrolysis

So, for all of you that want to geek out on the science......this is for you!

A small electric current is transmitted via a fine sterile probe (needle) directly into the natural opening of the hair follicle, destroying the dermal papilla, the matrix & an area called "the bulge", all of which cause hair to grow & regenerate.

Medical electrolysis devices can destroy the hair growth cells with chemical energy, heat energy or both. The method chosen by your electrologist is the modality. All are effective. There are three modalities in current use:-

    • Galvanic electrolysis is a chemical process. The current produces a chemical reaction in the hair follicle eliminating the hair growth cells.
    • Thermolysis (also called short-wave diathermy) produces heat. This modality heats & destroys the hair growth cells in the follicle. A higher intensity current can be applied for less time in the follice, or a current can be used at a lower intensity with longer timing.
    • The Blend Method combines galvanic current with thermolysis current. Thermolysis heats up the chemical reaction in the follicle destroying hair growth cells.
  • What Does Electrolysis Feel Like?

You'll probably feel a momentary sensation of heat or a pinch. Discomfort is minimal for most people, but pain is subjective & individual tolerances can vary greatly. The sensation can also differ greatly from one area to another. Many people however, chat away happily, read a book or even take a nap!

  • How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments required will vary from person to person as each client will have a different density of hair growth (e.g there may be between 50 to 500 hairs packed into a small area of skin). This means that each Clients treatment course can vary dramatically & no actual figure can be put on the number of treatments required. However, you will see & feel the difference quite quickly giving you the confidence to continue with your treatment.  Ensuring regular appointments is key to successful removal. There are also many other factors that affect how quickly each hair can be eliminated theses include:-

    • The thickness of the hairs
    • Previous method of temporary removal
    • The sensitivity of the skin
    • The health & condition of the skin
    • Density of the hair
